Sleeping Rotation

Meghan does a lot of wiggling in her sleep - especially when trying to get her hands into her mouth. In the duration of this mornings nap, she...

So Curious!

This little girl spends much of her day with her neck craned backwards....wherever she is, she is craning her neck to see what's around :)

Growing Up Sooo Fast!

The last week, Meghan has made several huge leaps...

Friday April 25th - no longer using cross-over snap on diapers - They are snapped on the smallest size now without crossing over.

Saturday April 26th - switched bottle nipples to 3-6 month size - She was so bored while eating she just wouldn't finish. We increased the nipple speed and she's been a much better eater!

Sunday April 27th - switched pacifier to 6-12 month size - She was having a hard time holding them in and was making a lot of noise while sucking. She still makes a lot of noise while sucking, but has a much easier time holding the pacifier in her mouth.

Sunday April 27th - started sleeping in the crib instead of the swing - The first few days were difficult, but she has gotten used to sleeping in her crib and is doing great!

Friday May 2nd - switched to a 4 hour schedule - This is expected of a baby several months older than her. She will not eat more often than every four hours throughout the day. She is now taking 5-6.5 ounces per feeding during the day - at 6 am, 10 am, 2 pm, and 6 pm. She eats once in the middle of the night around 2 am.

Sunday May 4th - rolled from back to front - This is not expected until 5 months; she should also have learned to roll from front to back first. She is now able to sleep laying on her belly and is no longer able to use her beloved swaddle blankets.

She is growing up SOO FAST!! Big changes I see coming in the next few weeks - sleeping in a sleep sack instead of a swaddle blanket around her middle, figuring out how to suck her thumb/fingers (there will be much less frustration around here once she gets this figured out!), lengthening the rise on her cloth diapers, reaching for and grabbing toys.

Rolling Over!

On Sunday May 4th, Meghan surprised us and herself by rolling over from her back to her belly during a diaper change. This is a skill that is not expected until 5 months and after they can roll from tummy to back. She's been growing up WAY to fast the past week!

Since she can now roll to her tummy, she can no longer be safely swaddled...so, we had to say "goodbye" to our beloved miracle blankets and pack them away in hopes of a little brother or sister to wear them.

To help her still feel secure, we are swaddling her in her "little girl" swaddle blankets that she hasn't worn in two months - to say that they fit a little bit different now would be an understatement :)

Newborn Meghan - fabric wraps around her body to her back, feet are in the bottom of the blanket
Two Month Old Meghan - fabric barely wraps far enough to velcro, feet are still in the bottom of the blanket
She seems to like the change - she now gets to sleep on her belly since she can get there on her own!
With her hands free she can also work on self soothing by sucking her hands - I have watched her do this several times on the video monitor.
Cute big girl!

4. Lay and enjoy being mostly naked!
5. Show off your ab muscles.
6. Lay on a towel next to the tub to have your diaper removed.
7. Scream as mom puts you into the water.
8. Remember that you actually like being in the bath.

10a. Mom will wash one side of your body.
10b. Mom will wash the other side of your body.
11. Do a little bit of dancing and splashing in the water.
12. Talk to that other baby who is always around during bath time.
13. Get wrapped sung and tight in your towel.
