Cuddly Blanket

Little Miss loves her blankets - especially the muslin ones - they are always dirty because she spends most of the day with one in her hands! She has taken to rolling over while holding them.

Today, she rolled over onto her quilt mid-diaper change and peed all over it. I diapered her up and then went to wash her blanket and the clothes she had been in. When I came back down, my sweet shirtless baby had rolled over, covering herself with one of her favorite blankets. It made for an adorable picture:

Summer Swimming

This afternoon, Meghan sported her cute new swimming ensemble from Great Grandma and Grandpa DeLoach and went "swimming" in a tub on the back porch. She cried at first when put in (it's in the 80s this week!) because the water was cold. Then she realized she could kick and splash in the water and started having a blast.

These pictures show off a little bit of sass......

Fabric Girl

Meghan LOVES fabric! She loves to chew on her muslin blankets and her flannel burp cloths; she drags her blanket with her when she goes rolling.

As a result of this fabric love, I have noticed her sleeping while holding her bumpers. So, today I put Charlotte (her bear with the blanket attached) in her crib, and she slept cuddled up with and holding onto her - ADORABLE!!

Maybe this girl will be my sewing friend....since she does love fabric...

Meghan is Finding her Voice

Meghan is Finding her Voice

Sensory Box Play

Meghan played in the sensory box on the front porch for about 30 minutes yesterday afternoon. It's a box from my teaching days filled with beans, rice, and birdseed. She seemed to have a blast kicking, raking her fingers through the textures, and picking them up and dropping them.

I put her in the tub leaning in the corner and she used her strong core to sit herself straight up - she stayed sitting independently for most of the time since she could stable herself on the sides and the surface could move and adjust while she balanced herself.

Hold on Tight!

Meghan must be having a wild adventure of a dream...she's holding tight to the bar on her crib!

Scooting Backwards

Meghan loves to scoot around. Today, in about 1 minute, she went from having her feet at the bottom of the blanket to where she is in this picture - all while scooting backwards on her head :)

Bedtime Snuggles

We wake Meghan up for a final feeding around 10:00 at night - this feeding usually gets her to her minimum needed ounces for the day and allows her to then sleep through the night until breakfast the next morning at 6:00.

Cole goes in, picks her up, and gets cuddle time with her while I prepare the bottle, turn on the light, and get ready to feed her. When their cuddle time is done and she is awake enough to eat, she gets passed to me, takes her bottle, and drifts back off into dreamland.

I love watching this tender moment between Meghan and Cole and she just snuggles in. The love between these two is just so evident!

K-State Cutie-Pie

Little Miss is so serious these days - poor girly just isn't feeling well.

But, check out her rolls! We've worked so hard for them and are so excited to see them!!

That's Gonna Hurt

If only we could all be this flexible without pain as a result! Meghan's sleeping position during a nap yesterday:

Sleepy Baby

Meghan woke up early from her afternoon nap with tooth pain (we are assuming based on the fact that she seemed to want to gnaw one of her hands off!!). Come 30 minutes before time to start bedtime routine, she was one tired baby!

Call me a bad mom if you like, but I put my fussy little girl in a bouncy seat, used my hand to bounce it for her, and allowed her to watch an episode of Baby Mozart. She thoroughly enjoyed the show and it worked to help her through a rough time until it was almost bedtime. She was so content and so engaged in watching the simple motions and sucking HARD on her pacifier. And, she was so cute lounging in her seat!

Mama's Gardening Helper

Meghan goes outside to help Mama harvest in the garden every other day or so! She's a great helper!!

Guarding today's harvest :)

Sucking Her Tongue

She loves to suck her tongue - just like Uncle Zachary!

Toothie Troubles

We are pretty sure that Meghan is working on some teeth - she bites and gnaws on toys super hard, loves cold toys, drools ALL THE TIME, and is generally frustrated/grumpy when chewing on toys as if she's countering some pain. Poor girl!

I read while I was pregnant that you should photograph ALL of the parts of baby's life. They said that all of the parts are parts to remember and part of the baby's story. And, you never know when you will get the cutest shot ever!

Today I laid down on Meghan's level and just started snapping pictures of her working with two of her teethers. These pictures make the whole process look much easier than it currently is for her, but I definitely think I have a new favorite picture of her!

This thing is like a really big pacifier in shape but made completely out of silicone. The nipple part is completely covered in bumps - she NEEDS this one a lot!

This doesn't even begin to accurately depict the amount of drool at this point!

This is my new favorite picture of her - those eyes are so captivating even when she is hurting!

Tuckered Out!

I was just saying to Cole today that we don't really have cute sleeping pictures of Meghan - she went from sleeping in our arms, to in her swing, to in her crib. She doesn't sleep elsewhere most of the time - she whines when she is tired, we put her in her crib, and she sleeps.

And then this happened....

I was working in the kitchen and she was playing with her "winkle" for a few minutes before bedtime. I noticed I hadn't heard her toy rattle and came over to find her asleep with it. She stirred after I said her name a few times and looked very confused. We took her upstairs, got on jammies, took a bottle, and she went right to sleep.

Bless her heart, she was so tired.

Crazy Day

Yesterday (thursday) was a rough day for little miss. She didn't seem to feel well, didn't want to eat, and struggled with getting to and staying asleep.

Even her napping position made it clear that it was a rough day:

Poor baby!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

In less than 2 minutes!

The only reason she ended up stopping was when the big mean couch wouldn't let her go any farther!

Well, our world has changed around here! We have a mobile baby!!

Meghan Playtime Video

Meghan has just had a good bottle feeding and good diaper so she was feeling very very good! Here is a 5 minute clip of her independent playtime - she shows off some of her great skills! Rolling over, shaking a rattle, talking, grabbing toys, giggling, crinkling, moving things to her mouth, etc. Enjoy!

As a side note - how cute are her hot pink jean shorts?!?

Meghan in her Jumperoo

Outside of her digestive system, which she has no control over, this little girl is basically perfect :) She is so happy and smiley! Here's a great clip of her just being happy sitting in her jumperoo.

Tired Baby

Little miss has had several rough days the past few days - constipation has led to lots of feed refusals or reduced feed volume. The resulting hunger/thirst combined with abdominal pain led to short/restless naps. Little miss just wasn't feeling well.

Tonight she was a bit fussy, so I popped her into the K'Tan (or "Miracle Wrap" as I like to call it). She nuzzled in and fell asleep for a good little nap against Mama. I love being able to cuddle her and calm her like this when nothing else works - I love that Mama is a calming "home base" when she's having a rough day.

Night 3 of Pears

Tonight was Meghan's 3rd time having pears - she HATES them! I think it's mostly the weird watery texture - very different than her beloved creamy avocado. She will swallow them, but spits as they begin coming near her mouth. I think we are going to take a break from the pears for a while.

So Happy to Play Indpendently

Meghan is learning to love playing on the floor - now that she can roll over to get toys, is improving in her ability to manipulate them, and is generally very interested in figuring them out she is spending more time playing without needing my constant help.

Most of my pictures of her these days are upside down - that's her favorite way to look around!

Such a cute shirt from Aunt Lauren and Uncle Travis.

Today she rolled over in the pack-n-play for the first time - she has learned she can better control toys when she's on her belly than she can on her back. Way to go, little smarty pants!!
