A Yummy Meal

Tonight Meghan enjoyed dinner. It seems that she ate several bites of banana. She at least enjoyed picking it up, learned to use two hands to hold it, and sucking on the top.

She also loved our twice baked potatoes. Hers was potato, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and butter. I would put a bit of it on my finger and hold it out for her; she would grab my finger, pull it into her mouth, scrape the food off using her top gums and happily smile and talk while chewing it up and swallowing. She probably ate about a tablespoon of her potatoes. And seemed very content with the whole experience :)

I LOVE floor vents

Meghan has been crawling all over the place the past few days! Today she took to licking all of the air vents she could find.

Later in the day, she got herself back behind one of the couches right next to the air purifier. I came back to the family room after working on some dinner prep and she wasn't visible...I had to follow the frustrated fusses of a baby who DID NOT plan on getting stuck in the corner of the room :)

Pincer & Puppy Eating

Meghan LOVES cheddar cheese. She has been working on eating shredded cheese using a pincer grasp - which she is not expected to start trying to use until around nine months! Yay Meghan!

Once she has eaten all the pieces that are big enough to pick up with a pincer, she has figured out she can lay her face on them and eat them like a puppy....so cute :)

What?!?! That's not weird, is it?!?!

Pat, Pat, Pat

I was washing bottles Saturday night when Little Miss' squeals kept seeming louder; knowing I had put her down at the far end of the family room, I figured she was just doing some more volume experimentation. Then I heard the "pat pat pat" of a little hand on wood floor. Turned around to a big cheesy smile as if to say "Hi Mama! I found you!" She crawled across the family room, around the couch, and had made it to the dining room. She was so proud!

Breakfast & Beef

I may stop taking pictures of her eating one of these days. Or maybe not....baby led weaning is just so cute and exciting. We love watching her experience new textures and flavors. She may not be getting any nutrition from her solids, but she is exploring them and setting the foundation for a lifetime of enjoying food in a healthy manner! And, she's so adorable while doing it.

We had breakfast for dinner....waffles were her first "bread" and she seemed to enjoy them. She was definitely curious about them!

The next night we had burgers for dinner. She definitely struggles with her hamburger strips, but she kept working to explore them.

She definitely has figured out how to "bite" food - now just to learn what is an appropriate sized bite!

Big Plans

This little girl is so joyful - I just know God has big plans to use that joy! I took her to Ikea last Thursday and she smiled and giggled and bounced in the carrier - several people stopped us to say how sweet she was, or how her smile brightened their day, or just to talk back to her sweet coos. She is such a blessing to us and to the world around her already; I am so excited to see how God will use that trait as she gets older!

Baby Led Weaning :: Night Two

Dinner last night was a baked sweet potato spear, 2 manarin oranges, and some shredded cheddar.

I only got pictures of the sweet potato being eaten as I had to help with the oranges and cheese. If I hold it in my fingers, she will grab my hand and pull it to her mouth. She just can't hold onto those things yet. She LOVED the cheese!

Self Spoonfeeding :: One Week

Meghan has been working on spoon feeding herself. She is getting so accurate with the spoon! After eating an ounce of pears, I was so impressed with how little mess she had made:

SOO Proud of Herself!

Baby Led Weaning :: Night One

We have started giving Meghan food in their whole form for her to experiment with .... without a pincer grasp right now, it's a bit interesting to figure out things she can hold and eat, but she seems to be enjoying the experience! Here are some pictures from the first night. Dinner was steamed carrot, peach slice, and a rice cake (mum mum).

Pajama Day!

After four days of constantly going-going-going Miss Meghan and I declared Monday a jammie day - she was so happy playing with toys after her first nap!

Cuddler

Meghan is not much of a cuddler unless she is getting ready to go night-night. She was so tired on Sunday afternoon that she was happy to just lay on Cole's legs while he worked on a project for quite a while. She looked so sweet in her mismatching outfit just chilling with Daddy.

She caught me...

Ready for Church

Meghan looked super cute in her pink dress on Sunday and was enjoying some time playing with Grandma Cindy before we left.

I thought she looked like such a big girl with actual bangs and most of her hair pulled up into her pigtails.

SOO Tired!

Meghan had a lot of excitement last Thursday thru Sunday and it threw off her napping schedule. On Saturday she ended up taking only 2 hours of naps (versus her average of 3.5-4.5). Then we went to her cousin Micah's birthday party. By the time we got her home to start bedtime routine she was just staring off into space, with an occasional random smile....

Fall Walk

Meghan woke up and kept pointing towards the door, so I decided that we must need to take a walk!

She looked so cute and content sitting in the stroller getting ready to go:

While we were walking, we found these beautiful "weeds" growing along the path. Meghan enjoyed playing with one and we brought some home to enjoy in the house:
