Meghan's Eating & Qualification for Feeding Therapy

Last Thursday, September 18th, Meghan qualified for occupational therapy services - in the form of feeding therapy. We enjoyed meeting the feeding specialist that was chosen just for her and her name is Meghan Lee - so funny! This is what I shared about the experience on facebook....

I only like sharing positive things on facebook, and so I've shared pictures of our sweet girl playing in solid foods - because that's cute! But, I have not shared about bottle feeding (or why I - a "crunchy Mama" - am bottle feeding in the first place). Long story short....I have to bottle feed and Meghan struggles to feed - it's been absolutely heart-wrenchingly awful for us. I haven't shared because we don't need advice, we need prayer and support - thus, we have only told a few people very close to our family.

Today, less than 8 months since I last signed the teacher line at an IEP meeting, I signed the parent line and Miss Meghan officially began feeding therapy through Infant and Toddler Services. Her development in all other areas is as expected or advanced - but feeding is severely delayed. I am excited for the potential for help we have now...we are working with a team of individuals who are experts in kids like Meghan! We are going to get some practical, every-day advice for helping her and some medical testing as well.

So, now I am sharing part of our story and asking for one thing: prayer. We would be honored by prayers for the doctors who work with her, the specialists who work with her, for us as her parents trying to support her, and for Miss Meghan. We have been blessed with a wonderfully sweet, smart, and engaging kiddo - hopefully someday soon eating will be just as exciting to her as the rest of her life is. Because this girl loves life and lives it with a giant smile!
